What Is a Raised Floor?

To put it simply, it is an elevated or high floor that is around 2 inches to four feet above a solid substrate, which is also often concrete. This is to create a void in between where cable, wires, and other mechanical devices are attached. Sometimes the space is huge enough for a person to crawl or walk through. Hence, raised floors are also referred to as access floor.
